Let me re-introduce myself. My name is Kate Anand. Aka @k8_master_stylist aka YYC SHORT HAIR SPECIALIST. You may know me as Kate Swartz, however I’ve recently gone back to my maiden name Anand.

I have been in the game since 1998 celebrating my 26th year doing hair. I’m currently opening my own studio with @citizen.salon.studios in Greenwich village. I’m a mother of 17 year old twins, a crazy animal lover, and enjoy gardening in my spare time. I wear my heart on my sleeve and pride myself in my relationships with all my guests.

I’m highly versed in all types of hair, however, overtime I did develop an allergy to lighteners.  I no longer accept NEW long hair blonding guests, however I’m OK with medium and short hair, lightening and accent pieces. Not sure? Just ask me.

My passion lies in women’s short haircuts. I adore creating and correcting pixie cuts. Having had short hair myself, most of my life, I truly understand what it means to have a good short haircut, that grows out well.

I offer, (by appt) low cost cleanups in between haircuts to extend the life of your style. I am truly confident in short hair and love creating looks for women that complement their maintenance level, lifestyle, age, hair texture, and face shape.
